There are size limitations and aesthetics that should be taken into consideration. One who makes a great home for a bonsai needs to understand how to achieve balance in the pot and not let if overpower the tree. Good quality stoneware containers should enhance the tree but also add a touch of personality, if you will, to make a very well balanced, aesthetic composition.
